We had the best day out on some of the most well behaved footsure horses ever! This adventure took us over all sorts of terrain and river crossings while taking in the most stunning surroundings. Our guide Milo was fantastic and we all came home with huge smiles and definitely wanting to return! Highly recommend. 😃😃😃

Daria made the booking so easy and was very helpful, accommodating and patient considering the weather was at risk of the ride day being cancelled. Amazingly the weather changed to sunny and the ride was on! Miko was an amazing guide and made the whole experience life-memorable. Scenery stunning. Thank you both and of course, the horses, with their positive, entertaining temperaments! Would not hesitate to return and recommend.

Our afternoon ride through the high country of St James was a highlight of our trip to Aotearoa. Milo, and his sidekick Maya, were wonderful tour guides, that led us on an easy but exciting ride across hilltops, through rivers, and up a steep pine forest track. Our trusty steeds, Kevin and King Kong were the perfect gentlemen and so well-trained, carrying us safely throughout the trip, and coming in for a good scratch after we dismounted. It was clear that they are well loved and meticulously cared for by Milo and the team at Mountain Horse Outfitters.
10/10 adventure, we will be back for more in the future.

A massive thanks for the ‘Stars & Springs’ trip!
Myself and my partner did this and it genuinely was one of the best experiences of both of ours lives!
The Incredible weather helped, but all in all it was a perfect overnight trip.
A great distance (about 15km in & out ) and an amazing campsite spot near the river and a a short walk to the pools. It was tucked away in a cute valley.
The pools were fun (and very hot) but going for a trot just the 4 of us in the afternoon was just bliss and a true highlight - we got to go as fast as we wanted and did some more tricker bits.
Milo and Jurgen (the guides) were the kindest, most respectful and helpful guides ever! From the prep, the gear & the communication. We always felt safe and they were on our time.
We absolutely recommend to anyone. Loved every minute
